Is your company ready for AI agents?

A practical readiness checklist (sources, governance, risk and metrics) to assess whether your foundation can sustain AI agents in operation.

1. Data and sources

You know which sources (documents, systems, spreadsheets) the AI should use to answer.
There is a defined “source of truth” for the most queried topics.
Sources are up to date and there is a process to keep them current.

2. Scope

It is clear what the AI can and cannot answer.
There is a safe default answer for when the information does not exist (“I don’t know”).

3. Governance

There is a definition of who is accountable for AI use in the company.
AI usage rules live in the architecture, not just in a document.
AI use is not scattered without visibility (“shadow AI”).

4. Permissions

Access to sources respects who can see what (by area/role).
The AI does not answer those not authorized for the information.

5. Traceability

Each AI answer points to its origin (traceable source).
It is possible to audit why the AI answered what it answered.

6. Answer quality

There is a way to measure whether answers are correct and complete.
Gaps (questions without a good answer) are identified and addressed.

7. Risk and compliance

Handling of personal and sensitive data (privacy/LGPD) was considered from the start.
There is clarity on what happens when the AI gets it wrong (accountability).

8. Use cases

The first use cases were prioritized by value and data readiness.
There is an initial use case with controlled scope to start with.

9. Metrics and pilot readiness

You have defined minimum metrics (coverage, % of answers with source, satisfaction).
There is an owner and a plan to review and improve the base continuously.
The company can run a pilot safely, without exposing critical data or decisions.

0–8 items: Early stage. Start by organizing sources and scope before automating.
9–16 items: In preparation. The base exists, but governance and traceability are missing to scale with confidence.
17–22 items: Pilot-ready. Your company is in a position to run a governed AI agent pilot.
